We are Laura and Sarah, childhood best friends turned Mahj and Vine Co-Founders.

We grew up together in a neighborhood called Robinhood Forest. Laura on Whispering Wind Drive. Sarah on Greenly. Our summers were spent in the woods behind Laura’s house. We played by the creek, shaped pottery from North Carolina red clay, rode our bikes past the dogwoods, ate honeysuckle until our stomachs hurt, and watched fireflies flicker across the yard at night.

Laura’s childhood sketches grew into the artistry behind Mahj and Vine. She hand draws every tile, and that foundation shapes each collection we create. The name of the Whispering Winds tile set comes from her street. The matching mat, Greenly, from Sarah’s. The jokers nod to the storybook spirit of Robinhood Forest. The hummingbird in the Bird Bam echoes the ones that hovered outside our windows.

Our designs are not simply inspired by our childhood. They are rooted in it.
